Back in the spring of 2015 Jordan Hoffman compiled his list of the 100 Best Sci Fi Movies of All Time - I'm no aficionado on this subject so take my thoughts on science fiction with due skepticism but I do have a major problem with this list (2 problems in fact). The films he chose are, by and large, pretty good and with 100 you know there's going to be a few dogs that make the list (more than a few really) so I'm not going to get all "that's not Sci Fi" on the specific choices. From the 100 he listed I'd put the following in my top 10

10. 1984
9. The Fountain
8. Sleeper
7. A Clockwork Orange
6. Planet of the Apes
5.
4. Rollerball
3. 2001: A Space Odyssey
2. Metropolis
1.

But this is where I must voice serious concern with the list of 100 sci fi films that does not include:

#5 Dune - David Lynch's amazing attempt to bring an absolute classic to the screen - flawed though it might be, it's still inspiring and mind blowing.

#1 Zardoz - Where the heck is Zardoz man? How can you have a list of 100 movies and not include this prescient John Boorman masterpiece somewhere? Zed is out their Jordan and he's coming to destroy your Tabernacle so prepair for your sweet release.

The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson

She was "sexy", but "too much hard work." I'm a regular Fox & Friends viewer (mostly in protest of the other insipid morning programs like Today and Good Morning America) so over the years I've gotten to know Gretchen Carlson pretty well. Stuck between Steve and Brian she always seemed a prudish scold with an irritating, self-righteous demeanor that I simply put up with because I figured some people in the Fox audience actually liked her persona. It was obvious that Steve and Brian did not, but they were stuck with her like so many talking heads and had to make the best of it - which they did. Besides, she was no worse than any of the other women on morning show TV - I mean, you're only going to find a certain kind of person to do this kind of work and that kind of person is the Gretchen Carlson kind. Greatest Headline of All Time Those readers living outside of Charlottesville, VA or Central Virginia proper might not be aware of the ongoing effort to pull down and move the statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee from the town square otherwise known as Lee Park (not named after Harper Lee or Bruce Lee or Stan Lee but after the same Robert E. Lee).
